Deena Keasey,
59, of Indianapolis, departed this life Saturday, September 22, 2018. She was born October 27, 1958 in Frankfort, IN to the late David and Janet (Snider) Distelhorst. Deena was a 1976 graduate of Carmel High School. She was Director of Institutional Advancement at Marian University and never turned down an opportunity to serve the university in whichever role she could help. Deena was also a longtime and dedicated member of St. Matthew Catholic Church where she often volunteered for church functions.
Deena is survived by her beloved husband of 41 years, Larry D. Keasey; her loving son, Jason (Courtney) Keasey; sister Debby (Mark) Trotter; brother Brad (Deanna) Distelhorst; 2 nieces Summer Trotter and Peyton Distelhorst; nephew Jake Trotter; dedicated grandchildren Taylor, Colton and Nicholas Keasey and a host of dear friends, students and faculty at Marian University.
Visitation will be from 4:00 pm until 7:00 pm at St. Matthew Catholic Church on Friday, September 28th . Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 11:00 am on Saturday, September 29th at Marian University Chapel.

"I am so sorry to hear of Deena's passing. I worked with Deena for many years at Kronos and we shared many work trips together with a management team. We had many fun times together. When I was very new to the company, I flew to Indianapolis to be trained by Deena. I recall how generous she was with her knowledge and time and in showing me the town. Deena was a thoughtful and kind lady and I am sure she will be missed by many. My deepest condolences to the family."
"My favorite memory of Deena was when Gus would get out and somehow she would take this giant dog by the collar and gently lead him back home. He put fear in anyone else but not Deena. He was putty to her gentle soul. This happened more than it should?ve and Deena and I would laugh at what a baby he was for her but no one else. Though we will miss her, I am sure Gus is happy to see his old friend. Take care of him for us Deena, until we meet again!"
