Barbara Jo Barb Gartman age 54 of Maquoketa Iowa died on Tuesday morning March 62007.0 at the Briarwood Care Center in Maquoketa Iowa.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Saturday March 102007.0 from the United Church of Christ in Maquoketa Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 7 P.M. on Friday March 92007.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Elwood Iowa Cemetery.
Barbara Jo Barb Gartman was born on October 29 1952 in Clinton Iowa to Allen Al Gartman & Doris Jean (Bowman) Gartman. She was a 1970 graduate of Delwood Community High School and earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree from Mt. St. Claire College in Clinton in 1985.
Barb had worked as a personal banker in the customer service department with U.S. Bank in Maquoketa from 1989 until February of 2007.
Barb was an active member of the United Church of Christ in Maquoketa where she had served in many capacities including church treasurer and Sunday school teacher. She also was a member of the Friday night Fearsome Foursome Group. She enjoyed collecting all kinds of rocks birds fish and Santa's. Her family was important to her and she loved spoiling her granddaughter.
Barb is survived by: children- Kristina (Mrs. John) Frick of Williamsburg IA Elizabeth Martinez of Charleston SC; a granddaughter- Lara Martinez; her father & step-mother- Allen Al & Shirley Gartman of Maquoketa IA; a brother- Marc (Rachel) Gartman of Menasha WI; & 2 sisters- Julie Scott of Davenport IA & Jane Wilkins of Iowa City IA. She was preceded in death by her mother- Doris Jean Gartman on July 12 1972.
A Barbara Jo Barb Gartman Memorial Fund has been established.
