In loving memory of

Mary (Addie) Woosnam
June 7, 1938 - September 26, 2018

Mary (Addie) Woosnam (Comstock), 80, departed this life Wednesday, September 26, 2018. Mary was born June 7, 1938 in Dugger, IN to Aaron and Virginia (Hawk) Comstock. She is survived by her Daughters, Sheri Conner (Mike), and Stacy Woosnam Blankenship (Ryan); three granddaughters; Candice, Lydia and Jenny; and sisters Becky (Harold d.) Purkerson and Vicki (Bill d.) Trimpe. Mary was preceded in death by her son, Scott Woosnam, her parents, and her brother Jerry (Sheila).

After graduating from Anderson High School, Addie (as she was known to her side of the family and old friends) became a devoted and loving mom, grammie, and a faithful friend to many. She worked in furniture sales at Lazarus department store in Indianapolis and merchandising at Custom Retail Services. Never able to contain how delighted she was with her home at Sanders Glen Assisted Living Community in Westfield Indiana, she filled her apartment with vases of flowers each week, and proudly served as an ambassador to prospective residents. She raved about the food there and enjoyed visiting with friends at mealtime. Rarely missing an episode of Jeopardy, Mary's crush on Alex Trebek was evident. As a lover of newspapers from anywhere, she completed the Indianapolis Star crossword puzzle every day. Mary was grateful to have attended the last concert of her favorite musician, Elvis Presley, at Market Square Arena in 1977.

Ever exuding the happiest most positive outlook on life, Mary's deep dimples and sweet smile endeared her to each-and-every person she met. She loved her kids unconditionally and adored her granddaughters to pieces. In her presence one couldn't help but smile and laugh along with her silly (not always appropriate) sense of humor and uninhibited nature. Purple was Mary's favorite color and the sky was radiant with shades of violet, pink and orange at sunset the evening she passed away...a strong message to her family that she is in Heaven with God. Mary will be missed by all who know and love her!

"What a beautiful Lady Mary. I had the privilege of graduating from High School with her. Joanie and I have many delightful memories of our close friendship with her. Our deepest sympathy and condolences to Sheri and Stacy and other family and friends. We would be happy if she saves us a seat right next to her upstairs."

"Mary came to the coffee social on Tuesday morning in the Sunroom at Sanders Glen and had two apple pastries and coffee. She said to me on the way out, " I live for this!' On Wednesday morning off she went to Kroger's and was all set for her Wal-Mart trip. She will be so missed, on our Wednesday jaunts!!! We have renamed our Tuesday coffee socials, Mary's Corner and will remember her loving personality, her sense of humor and those marvelous dimples."

Your "adopted" daughter, Lisa Strain wrote on Oct 1, 2018:

"Mary is Momma #2 to me, and Mom to my best friend Stacy. I am so very sorry for the family's loss. Mary is definitely someone that touched the hearts of all that she met. I will always remember and adore her beautiful smile and her crazy, fun and yes agreed sometimes inappropriate humor. She was always so sweet and kind and just such a gentle person to be around. To know her is to love her. It breaks my heart to know she is no longer physically with us, but she will always be in all the hearts she touched. With love always Momma 2. Prayers, hugs and strength to her family and close friends."
