"Jay was a caring and capable leader at a time when Delta needed him the most. He had a keen intellect and a sense of humor that immediately made you comfortable. I fondly remember many conversations with him over the years. He was a servant leader who set the standard for our company. "

"As Program Manager for the B-727 in 1986, Jay was my "boss" as System Manager of Flight Training. He was easy to work for, fought for us when the time came and led us through the Western merger. Through his leadership we set an new higher training standard for the Delta pilot group that has endured through the years. I know he will be well remembered by each Delta pilot who crossed his path during his career. My heartfelt condolences to Joan and the family . Bless you and know you are in my prayers.
