James "Jimmy" Gilmore
September 17, 1933 - October 2, 2018

James "Jimmy" Curtis Gilmore, 85, of San Angelo, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, October 2, 2018 in San Angelo. Jimmy was born September 17, 1933 in San Angelo, Texas to Charles Gilmore and Lena Bob Gilmore. Jimmy married the love of his life, Wanda Lee Gilmore on August 27, 1957. They moved to San Angelo where they made their home and shared 60 wonderful years of marriage together and raised two children, Jennifer and Jeff. Jimmy was a serviceman in the Army in his twenties and went on to work at the Post Office from where he retired. While working there, he also worked for the Honda shop and was a part of the Concho Cycle Club in the 1970's. After retiring, Jimmy spent most of his time at his motorcycle shop on Main Street called Jim's. Many friends would gather there every morning for good conversation and a cup of coffee. On Fridays, Jimmy and his friends would take a motorcycle ride to nearby towns for a bite to eat and would end their weekend on Sunday with bible study back at Jim's. Jimmy was a loving husband, brother, father, grandfather, and uncle who devoted his life to his family and Jesus. He was preceded in death by his wife and his parents. Jimmy is survived by his daughter, Jennifer Juarez and her husband Chris of San Angelo, his son, Jeff Gilmore and his wife Christie of North Hollywood, CA, his grandchildren, Taylor Manship and her husband Seth, Cameron Juarez and his fiancé Care'n Herrera, Joshua Gilmore and Sydney Gilmore, and his great grandchildren, Parker Manship and Benjamin Juarez. He is also survived by his two sisters, Sandra Machann and her husband Erwin of Lake Limestone, and Geneva Weedon and her husband Ferman of Harker Heights, TX. Also, many nieces and nephews including Steve and Russell Machann. The family will receive friends for visitation from 4:00 P.M. - 6:00 P.M., Friday, October 5, 2018 at Harper Funeral Home. The Funeral Service will be 10:00 A.M., Saturday, October 6, 2018 at Harris Avenue Baptist Church with Jim Wilkerson officiating. Interment will follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers for the service will be Steve Machann, Russell Machann, Seth Manship, and Cameron Juarez. The family wishes to extend their appreciation and give a special thanks to Sylena Prince, Joyce Hiney, Wanda Yoes, Rhonda Ottmers, Meg Davis, and Sabrina Geist for all the loving care given to Jimmy and Wanda.
