Mary Jean Buckley, 87, passed away Saturday, October 6, 2018 at the Paula J. Baber Hospice Home in Fort Dodge.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, October 10th, 2018 at 10:00 AM in the Chapel of the Laufersweiler-Sievers Funeral Home and 10:30 AM at Corpus Christi Church with Msgr. Kevin McCoy officiating the Mass of Christian Burial. Burial will take place in Corpus Christi Cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4:30 to 7:00 PM at Laufersweiler Funeral Home with a C.D. of A. Rosary at 4:00 PM and a Vigil Prayer service at 7:00 PM
Mary is survived by her children, Linda (T. David) Williams of Minnetonka, MN, Carol (Allan) Ekanger of Grand Junction, CO; Sheila (Darrell) Poortinga of Des Moines; Pat Buckley of Fort Dodge; Mike (Mary Jo) Buckley of Fort Dodge, Rachelle (Ronnie) Lyon of Webster City; 11 grandchildren: Beth (Matt) Koehler, Ashley Williams, Tom Williams, Joe (Katie) Buckley, Misty Monlux, Daniel (April) Lyon, Rob (Monica) Lyon, Christine (Steve) Nairn, Craig (LeeAnn) Ekanger, Steven (Liz) Ekanger, and Emily (Corey) Hearn; 12 great-grandchildren: Lauren Koehler, Becca Koehler, Georgia Buckley, Lexi Monlux, Dakota Monlux, Abigail Lyon, Isaac Nairn, Elaina Nairn, Isaac Ekanger, Sophia Ekanger, Griffin Hearn, and Brieanna Lyon; sisters, Rita Ivory and Rachel Carter.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph and Rachel (McElroy) Drzycimski; husband, Eugene Buckley; brothers, Robert "Bobby" Drzycimski and George "Nick" Drzycimski; sisters, Miriam Williams and Betsy O'Leary; her grandson, James "Jimmy" Buckley.
Mary Jean Drzycimski was born November 10, 1930 in Palmer, Iowa. She attended schools in the area and graduated from Corpus Christi High School in 1948. On September 11, 1950 she was united in marriage with Eugene Buckley and the couple made their home in Fort Dodge. Mary worked at Target for 23 years, retiring in 1995. She was a member of Holy Trinity Church. She served as Eucharistic Minister and sang in the choirs at Holy Rosary and Corpus Christi Church. Mary was a member of the Rosarians, Catholic Daughters of America, Monican Mothers, Marian Home Auxiliary and was a past Leader and Board Member of the Campfire Association.
