Kouper Michael West

Kouper Michael Edward West, age 10, went to Heaven on Friday October 12th 2018 at Nebraska Methodist Hospital after a two and a half year courageous battle with cancer. Kouper was born September 14, 2008 in Omaha and was a 4th grade student at Longfellow School. He lived his life to the fullest and fought extremely hard every day. Kouper's Troopers no one fights alone. He is preceded in death by his grandmothers, Alice Merksick and Darlene Igou. Kouper leaves behind his parents, Mandie Merksick and Jason West; sister, Emma; grandparents, Tom Merksick, Dennis West and wife, Cindy, Jack McCart all of Council Bluffs, Sheri McCart of Omaha, Walt Igou of Council Bluffs; many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends and Kouper's beloved dog, Yager.
