Diane Hubb, age 70 of Centerville passed away Thursday morning at Centerville Nursing and Rehab Center in Centerville.
Diane was born June 21, 1939 in Moline, Illinois, the daughter of Clarence Arthur and Olive Jean (Kelsey) Fletcher. She was raised in the Quad Cities. Diane married Kenneth Watts on September 25, 1959 in Rock Island, Illinois. He preceded her in death on May 14, 2008. After having children, Diane decided to continue her education. She went back to school for training in the nursing field. She became a licensed practical nurse. Diane worked as an LPN in several locations throughout Iowa, including Grundy Center and Clinton.
Most importantly, Diane was a wife, mother, sister, and a friend to those who knew her. She took great pride in raising seven children. Diane enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.
In her free time, Diane loved spending time on her computer. She also enjoyed crocheting, cross stitching, needle point, and sewing.
She is survived by seven children, Allen (Linda) Acker of La Crescent, Minnesota, Kenny (Kathy) Watts Jr. of East Moline, Illinois, Kevin (Diana) Watts of Cedar Falls, Iowa, Kraig (Deb) Watts of Belle Plaine, Minnesota, Tonya (Barry) Clinkenbeard of Centerville, Iowa, Kurtis (Lynette) Watts of Centerville, Iowa, and Tara (James) Hermon of Centerville, Iowa; twenty eight grandchildren; eleven great grandchildren; three sisters, Carol (Robert) Magnuson of Moline, Illinois, Barbara Shaney Moline, Illinois, and Linda (Floyd) Hill of Pine Top, Arizona.
Diane was preceded in death by her parents; and a son Danny Fletcher.
Funeral services will be held 11 AM, Saturday, September 19, 2009 at the Lange Funeral Home in Centerville with Pastor Dave Clark officiating. A visitation will be held on Friday at Lange Funeral Home from 1-8 PM, with the family present from 6-8 PM. According to Diane's wishes, cremation will follow the funeral service. A memorial has been established to Nessa's Kittens and may be left at or mailed to Lange Funeral Home, 1900 S. 18th St., Centerville, Iowa, 52544.
