Oakdale, MN - Robert O. Henry, age 87, of Oakdale, MN, died on October 17, 2018, at St. Joseph's Hospital in St. Paul, MN. Robert was born on July 12, 1931, in Mabel, MN to Paul and Lillian (Tollefsrud) Henry. He was raised in Fremont, MN and graduated from Lewiston High School in 1949. Robert served in the U.S. Navy from 1951 to 1955, during the Korean Conflict. He was united in marriage on March 16, 1952, with Helen M. Baer. He was a member of the Oakdale Wesleyan Church in Oakdale, MN. Robert enjoyed a successful 33 year career with 3M Company in the Twin Cities as a supervisor and production planner. He also enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, especially working around his house.
He is survived by his wife, Helen; three children: Scott Henry of Eau Claire, WI, Jodell (Ralph) Terrell of Morristown, MN, and Jill Henry of Apple Valley, MN; four grandchildren: Cassandra Jahr, Danielle Olson, Joshua Jahr, and Adam Henry; two great-grandchildren; Bladen and Collin; one brother, Dale Henry; and by many nieces, nephews, cousins, step-children, step-grandchildren, and friends.
Robert was preceded in death by: his parents, two sisters: Harriet and Donna, and daughter-in-law, Deborah.
There will be a gathering on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at Oakdale Wesleyan Church at 6477 10th Street North in Oakdale, MN. There will be a second gathering on Wednesday, October 24, at Fremont Scotch Church from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. A graveside service will follow at 1:00 p.m. at the church cemetery.
