Doug McLeod wrote on Apr 8, 2010:

"Gary and Barb, I was saddened to hear of your loss. Although I never got to know Matthew, I'm sure that you raised him to be a terrific young man. I've known you both for so long that it's just hard to imagine a loss like this. Mom will be at the visitation, I think, and I only wish I could be there myself. I've always thought you two were terrific people. Barb, I've known you since you were little. And Gary, it was so great being in a band with you and being your friend. I'm certainly not surprised that Matthew was a music lover. And, of course, Mom and I will never forget your showing up at our house on the day my Dad was buried -- on the way to do the same for your mother. Believe that your boy is in a happy, peaceful place now -- because he is. Doug"

"Dear Hull family, I am so sorry to hear about the loss of Mat. I have many fond memories of him from junior high and high school. We went to our first homecoming dance together, he took me kite-flying for the first time, and he introduced me to Jimi Hendrix and the Gin Blossoms (I tried unsuccessfully to make him a fan of Billy Joel). Although we hadn't spoken in years, I thought of him often. My thoughts are with your family."
