Kathleen Ann Lee
November 10, 1942 - October 24, 2018

Kathleen Ann (Pace) Lee, age 75, passed away October 24th, 2018, after a short unexpected battle with stomach cancer. Kathy was born November 10th, 1942 to the late Paul L. Pace and Evelyn (Nelson) Pace. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1960. She was an active member and supporter of the marching band. Kathy went to work as a typist-cashier at American Finance Co. in Council Bluffs and then Dial Finance Mail Co. in Omaha, Nebraska. In 1986 she joined the Bethany Lutheran Home family where she was member of the activities department. After 26 years, she retired in 2012 but continued to volunteer for 7 years as a piano player for the Vespar service and sing-a-longs. From the age of 4 years old, Kathy devotedly followed Jesus throughout her life. She was a member of South 7th Avenue Baptist Church, Valley View Baptist Church, Southview Baptist Church and Eastern Hills Baptist Church. She served as Deaconess, Sunday School Teacher and piano player. Kathy had a passion for music. She began studying piano and theory at the age of 8 years old. She later taught piano lessons at Viola Bickels Music Studio and played the organ and piano for several churches. She relayed her love for music onto her family. In 1962, Kathy met George William Lee and were shortly married later at Valley View Baptist Church. Through the years they were blessed with 6 children. They were married for 55 years. In addition to her parents, Kathy was preceded in death by her husband, George W. Lee; sister, Marcea Van Cleave; son, Mark Lee, and grandson, Trey Kalili. Kathy is survived by sons, Michael Lee and Matthew Lee; daughters, Lisa (Lee) and Mark Overlie, Lynnette (Lee) and David Bayer, Mary Beth (Lee) Frederickson; grandchildren, Devon Lee, Ashley Lee, Blake Lee, Todd Overlie, Kristina Lee, Keanu Kalili, Paul Overlie, Kelsey Bayer, and Cole Bayer; great-grandchildren, Liberty Lee, Alexandria Lee and Esther Lee; sisters-in-law, Tolora Lee, Vivian Lee, Audrey (Lee) Neiworth, LaVonne Lee, and Karon (Lee) and Tom Jones.
