On October 27, 2018, our darling mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and aunt, Elinor Margaret Wood, went home to her Lord. Elinor had been a happy resident at Solaris Healthcare in Pt. Charlotte for over three years. She was a Florida native, she and her twin Elizabeth being born in Tampa in 1937. Elinor is survived by a son, David Nelson of N. Ft. Myers; a daughter, Stephanie Ray of Old Town; grandchildren Joseph Ray of Chiefland and Jenna Ray of Trenton; great grandchildren Hailey, Alexander and Benjamin. Also surviving are sisters Elizabeth Suckling of Pt. Charlotte, Nelle White of Ruskin and Sharon Nelson of Punta Gorda and also lots of nieces and nephews. May she feel the wind beneath her wings, fly high sweet angel, we all love you so.

Your mother called me aside one day while we were at her house staying with her for your dad's funeral. Your mother called me aside and asked me very sweetly "Dottie, I wish Robert were here: he is my son too! Why isn't he here?" I told her that Robert was the manager of a store and tried and tried to get time off to be down here in Florida for his father's funeral, but since he was the manager of the store he could not get anyone to replace him. So he couldn't be here. The point is your mother said Robert is my son too! Anything to say Nelle you were adopted too! "
