Isaac Watt Freeman
June 12, 1926 - November 5, 2018

Isaac Watt "I.W." Freeman, Jr., 92, passed away peacefully at his home surrounded by his family on November 5, 2018. Isaac was born July 12, 1926 to Isaac Watt and Clara Freeman in Monroe, Louisiana. He married the love of his life, Henrietta, on April 5, 1948, in Natchitoches, Louisiana. He served in the U.S. Navy during WWII as a Machinist 2nd mate. After his time in the Navy, Isaac started working at Western Electric in Louisiana, then went on to work for GTE that brought him to Texas until retirement. After retirement he began working in real estate and became a member of the Telephone Pioneer Club, and found himself volunteering at St. Johns, Shannon Auxiliary, and Rust Street. He was a member of Johnson Street Church of Christ for over 12 years. He loved to go golfing and reading, and wood working. He loved attending all of his grandchildren and great grandchildren's sports activities. He was preceded in death by his infant daughter Brenda Freeman, parents Isaac Watt Sr. and Clara Freeman, sister, Martha Parish, brother, Travis Freeman, and wife Henrietta Freeman. Survivors include his daughters, Pat Vaughn and husband John, of College Station, and Margie Lyons, of San Angelo, sons, Mitch Freeman and wife Debbie, and Mark Freeman, both of San Angelo, special nephew Dale Carter and wife Linda, of Florida, sister-in-law Hazel Freeman, of Monroe, Louisiana, grandchildren, Kim McFall and husband Jason, of Sugarland, TX, Chad Vaughn and wife Kari, of Kingwood, TX, Lyndsay Boatright and husband John, of San Angelo, Grant Freeman and wife Hillary, of Wichita Falls, Ben Lyons and wife Kristen, of San Angelo, Heather Schoen and husband Derek, of Mertzon, TX, Stephanie Freeman of Conroe, TX and Lana Freeman of Shepherd, TX, and great grandchildren, Ryleigh and Evan Vaughn, Kaylyn and John Hayes, Jordan and Jaxson Freeman, Bretley, Kade, and Bryden Lyons, Tucker, Adelyn, and Colson Schoen, and Lane Vandiver, and a host of numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation will be held on November 9, 2018, from 6:00-8:00 PM at Harper Funeral Home. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM, November 10, 2018 at Johnson Street Church of Christ. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Rust Street Ministries. The family wishes to give special thanks to St. Johns (especially Patricia), Shannon Hospital, Saint Gabriels Hospice (especially Rene, Cindy and Christina), and Harper Funeral Home.
