In loving memory of

Mathias H. Dietrick
July 24, 1946 - November 4, 2018

After enduring a long, valiant fight against cancer, Mathias H. "Buddy" Dietrick, 72, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 4, 2018. He was the fourth out of five children born to Mathias and Hazel Dietrick, on July 24, 1946, in Salonika, Greece, where his father's occupation had him working. After moving around a bit, they settled in Arlington Heights, IL where he spent the rest of his childhood. Buddy was a proud veteran, joining the U.S. Army in 1966. He worked in intelligence and also served during the Vietnam War. He went on to retire as a Master Sergeant with 20 years of service. After his time in the military he served at many different jobs, one of which brought him and his family to San Angelo, Texas in the summer of 1990. This is where he decided to plant roots and spend the rest of his days. Buddy had many hobbies, but what he most enjoyed was playing golf, cooking for family and friends, and most of all, being involved in his grandkid's activities. He never missed a concert, performance or game before falling ill. He was incredibly kind and generous, always eager to assist someone in need. Buddy will lovingly be remembered by his son, Nicholas Dietrick, daughter, Jackie (Rey) Villarreal, grandchildren, Nicholas Dietrick, Jr., Micheal Villarreal, Alyssa Villarreal and Rachel Villarreal, sister, SueAnn Belda, brother, Michael Dietrick, and countless other friends and family. Buddy was preceded in death by his parents Mathias and Hazel Dietrick, and sisters Florence Dietrick and Roberta Brunner. A memorial service will be held at 10AM on Monday, November 12, 2018 at Holy Angels Catholic Church. The burial of his ashes will be in Wisconsin at a later date.
