Alice Marie Holbert
December 19, 1962 - October 28, 2018

Alice Marie was born to David L. Montgomery Sr. and Alvester Montgomery on December 19, 1962 in St. Louis MO. She spent her childhood in East St. Louis where she attended grade school at Lillie Freeman and then went to middle school at Hughes Quinn. She graduated from Lincoln Sr. High June 1981. Alice later married Harlee Gigger Jr. in 1981. Then had two children Shanae Gigger (Fasola) and Harlee Ramon Gigger. She traveled with him in the military to Texas. She graduated from Aladdin Beauty College cosmetology school, she worked many jobs on base like the Goodfellow Dinning Hall, Child Development Center, she also worked at Shannon St. Johns Campus, and Shannon Hospital as a cook. In 1997 she divorced. There after she met the love of her life while at Shannon Hospital, Curnie E. Holbert. They married in April 25, 1998 until death did them part. She had many hobbies she loved cooking, singing, shopping, volunteering at Wesley Trinity soup Kitchen, and taking care of her grandchildren. She had and open door to anyone. When you were hungry she fed you, when you needed a place to stay you could always stay with her. She loved to open her home up to anyone, but she had a special place in her heart for Christine Kelly and Andre Taylor. She confessed her life to Christ at an early age at Macedonia Baptist Church in E. St. Louis. She joined San Angelo Greater IME and later followed her husband to Wesley Trinity United Methodist Church. The family would like to thank Dr. Chinn, Senior Care and Shannon Home Health for the loving care that they gave. She is preceded in death by her dad and mom, along with two nephews Shontez Montgomery Jr. and Larry Montgomery Jr. She leaves behind a loving husband of 21 years Curnie E. Holbert, her daughter Shanae M. Fasola(Adeleke A. Fasola), her son Harlee R. Gigger (Karen E Gigger), and three grandchildren Mariah Gigger Allyson Gigger, Damon Gigger, she leaves four siblings David L. Montgomery (Lynette), Larry Montgomery (Beatrice), Marilyn Moore (Larry Moe) and Arthur Montgomery, and a host of nieces and nephews. A Visitation will be held at Harper Funeral Home Friday, November 2, 2018 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. The funeral service will be held at San Angelo Greater IME, November 3 at 2:00 PM with burial to follow at Lawnhaven Memorial Gardens.
