Paul Arthur Koeppen

Paul Arthur "Punk" Koeppen, age 72, of Council Bluffs, passed away January 11, 2019 at Veterans Medical in Omaha. Paul was born in Portsmouth, Iowa on November 30,1946 to the late Paul and Shirley Mae (Tarkington) Koeppen. Paul graduated from Thomas Jefferson with the class of 1965 and later at Iowa Western Community College. He proudly served in the US Army in Vietnam from 1966-68 in the military police. Upon his return from duty, Paul served this community on the Council Bluffs Police Dept. for eleven and a half years, and was the Liaison Officer at Edison School. In 1979, He went to work for Council Bluffs Community Schools, retiring in 2007 as the Custodial Supervisor. He is preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Shirley, aunts and uncles. Survivors include his wife, Cindy whom he married in 1991 of Council Bluffs; daughters, Michele Paxton and husband Brad of Crescent, Iowa, Jodi Leazenby and husband Ed of Cave Creek, Arizona; grandchildren, Zachary Harris and significant other Ashley, Nicholas Harris and wife Kayla, Brody Paxton, Clay Metcalf, Cashlin Leazenby, Stocktin Leazenby; sister, Patricia Bending and husband Ron of Jacksonville, Arkansas; brother, Phil Koeppen and wife Tami of Bellevue, Nebraska; son-in-law, Darrell Harris of Council Bluffs; nieces and nephews.
