St. Paul, Minn. - Shawn David Mayer, age 43, passed away after a short illness on January 5th, 2019.
He is proceeded in death by his father, Dennis Wiggin; grandmother, Betty Mayer, cousin, Kristi (Mayer) Stockley. Shawn is survived by mother, Susan Mayer; grandfather, C. James Mayer; uncle and aunt, Fred Mayer and Patricia Mayer; cousins, Eric (Amanda) Mayer, Ryan (Jen Rice) Mayer; great-uncle, Roger and his family; other relatives and friends.
Shawn is survived by his Mother, Susan Mayer; Grandfather, C. James Mayer; Uncle and aunt, Fred Mayer and Patricia Mayer; Cousins, Eric (Amanda) Mayer, Ryan (Jennifer Rice) Mayer; Great-Uncle, Roger Mayer and his family; other Relatives and Friends.
Shawn was a graduate of Highland Park Senior High, and a graduate of Vermillion Community college in Ely, where he obtained his AA & AS Degrees in Water Quality Sciences. He was a 16 year employee of the City of St. Paul - Water Department. Shawn was an outgoing, fun-loving person and loved to talk to everyone. He was passionate about outdoor extreme sports, was an avid outdoorsman and was always supportive to his family and friends. Shawn was loved deeply and will be greatly missed by family and friends.
A celebration of Shawn's life and memory will take place at Cress Funeral Home on Speedway Road in Madison, WI at 1:00pm. A meal of remembrance and friendship will follow in the community room at Cress Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers and memorials, a random act of kindness in his memory is preferred and appreciated (At the family's request, please do not send flowers).
