Duane P. Chevalier

Duane P. Chevalier, age 79, of Council Bluffs, passed away January 12, 2019 at CHI Mercy Hospital. Duane was born December 29, 1939 in Campbell, Nebraska to the late Phil and Antoinette (L'Heureux) Chevalier. He graduated from Campbell High School in 1957 and attended University of Nebraska-Lincoln for one year. Duane proudly served his country in the National Guard from 1959-1964. On September 2, 1961, Duane married Linda J. Frisbie in Lincoln, Nebraska. They were blessed with two children, Michael and Mary. The Chevalier family made their home in Omaha, moving to Council Bluffs in 1975. Duane was a field rep for Mobil Oil for many years retiring in 1996. He was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church; St Patrick Memorial Choir; Council Bluffs Serra Club; 4th Degree Knights of Columbus, Bishop Drumm Assembly and a St. Albert Ambassador. In addition to his parents, Duane was preceded in death by his sisters, Gae Ann Theesfeld and LaVonne Hansen. Duane is survived by his wife of 57 years, Linda J. Chevalier of Council Bluffs; son, Michael Chevalier and wife, Jill of Omaha; daughter, Mary Forbes and husband, William of Raleigh, North Carolina; grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, and Noah Chevalier, Philip, Mark, Joseph and Nicholas Forbes, 2 great-grandchildren; sister, LaDonna Choquette of Campbell, Nebraska; nieces and nephews.
