Stephen J. Divin, Jr., age 77, of Persia, Iowa, passed away January 29, 2019 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. Steve was born February 25, 1941 in Omaha to the late Stephen and Vlasta (Nekola) Divin, Sr. He graduated from Omaha South High School in 1959 and attended college for two years. Steve married Janice Stewart on October 15, 1960. They were blessed with four children, Wendy, Steven, Diana and Christina. Steve was a 28 year member of the Omaha Fire Department, retiring in 1991 as a captain. He and his son, also owned and operated SDS Construction. Steve was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Neola. In addition to his parents, Steve was preceded in death by his daughter, Wendy Jean Divin in 1967. Steve is survived by his wife of 58 years, Jan Divin; daughters, Diana "Dee" (Steve) Dollen, all of Persia, Christina "Crissy" (Joe) Masker of Neola, Iowa; son, Steve Divin of Persia; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Andrew) Cooper, Elaina, Mitchell, Kylie, Julia, Carter, Josey and Rebecca; great-grandson, Leo Cooper; sisters, Joyce (Bob) Nohavec of Lincoln, Nebraska, Jean Kral of Omaha, Joan (Mike) Bonnstetter of Beaver Lake, Nebraska; nieces and nephews.
