Julia Ann Lyons
April 21, 1931 - February 19, 2019

Julia Ann Lyons, age 87, of Council Bluffs, passed away February 19, 2019 at Risen Son Nursing Home and Richard D. Lyons, age 87 of Fountain Hills, Arizona passed away August 28, 2018 in Fountain Hills. They will be buried together on Saturday, March 2, 2019 in Ridgewood Cemetery with a private ceremony. A reception honoring both of their lives will be held Saturday at 11:30 a.m. at the Walnut Hill Reception Center, 1350 E. Pierce St. Family and friends are cordially invited. Richard D. Lyons was born May 25, 1931 in Omaha, Nebraska. He graduated from Harlan, Iowa High School. Richard married Julia Ann Knapp in August of 1948. They were blessed with three children, Neil, Deb and Rich. Richard was a truck driver for Herman Brothers for many years. Julia was born April 21, 1931 in Harlan, Iowa to the late Neil and Ruth (Booth) Knapp. She graduated from Harlan, Iowa High School. Julia was a bookkeeper for State Bank and Trust, Perry Brothers and retired from ABC Electric. They were preceded in death by their son, Neil T. Lyons in 2018 and granddaughter, Branndie Pauley in 1988. Julia was also preceded by her sister, Mary Lou Howell. Julia and Richard are survived by their daughter, Deb (Larry) Pauley of Omaha; son, Rich (Sally) Lyons of Highlands Ranch, Colorado; 4 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren; and daughter-in-law, Sherry Lyons of Fountain Hills, Arizona. Julia is also survived by her sister, Susan (Al) Elliste of Canton, Mississippi.
