Barbara J. Anderson, age 89, of Council Bluffs, passed away March 17, 2019 at Bethany Lutheran Home. Barb was born January 7, 1930 in Council Bluffs to the late William and Edna (Coan) Hempel, Sr. She graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1947. Barb retired from Northwestern Bell/Qwest. She was a member of Broadway Christian Church. In addition to her parents, Barb was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond L. Anderson; sisters, Joyce Bynum and Karen Young; brother, William Hempel, Jr. Barb is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Don and Dixie Hempel of Council Bluffs; many nieces, nephews, great nieces, nephews and great-great nieces and nephews.
