Joan W Craig

Joan W. Craig, age 88, of Ames, Iowa passed away at Green Hills Health Care Center in Ames, on April 13, 2019. A celebration of life memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, April 25, at Green Hills in the main dining area, 2205 Green Hills Drive, Ames, Iowa.
Joan was born May 12, 1930, the daughter of Miller and Leora (Doolittle) Christiansten. Her father was in the military. She graduated from Mt. Ayr High School, then attended Iowa State University where she received her Bachelors and Masters degrees. She taught high school Home Economics, and later Elementary School.
Joan was affiliated with TTT, and Ames Women's Club. She was an avid bridge player, seemstress and gardener, honoring the miracles of nature and was forever creative in many endeavors. She loved to travel and was a life long member of First United Methodist Church.
Joan is survived by her three children, six grandchildren, and five great- grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband Charles M. Craig.
