Jan Tegro
February 18, 1950 - January 16, 2019
Jan (Jet) Shearer Tegro was born February 18, 1950 in Ames, Iowa to Howard and Dorothy (nee McCoy) Shearer. She passed away peacefully at the Good Samaritan Bonell facility in Greeley, Colorado on Wednesday, January 16, 2019. She was a long time resident of Fort Collins. A memorial service will be held on June 8th, 2019 at Stevens Memorial Chapel at 11:00 a.m.
She leaves to mourn her daughter, Amy Plumb and beloved granddaughter Mikiva Lewis both of Fort Collins. She is also survived by her lifelong best friend and sister, Jodie (Buddy) Shearer Nidey of Sapphire, North Carolina and her brother Jeff (Lin) Shearer of Alexandria, Virginia. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother, grandparents and numerous aunts and uncles.
Jan was a graduate of Ames High School and Colorado State University and spent her career as a social worker. Jan was very proud to be a 12 step overcomer for nearly 40 years.
