Bonny L. Erickson

Bonita L. "Bonny" Erickson, 87, of Huxley died July 7, 2019 at the Madrid Home. Services will be Thursday July 11, 2019 at 10:30 am at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. Burial will be in the Warren Township Cemetery near McCallsburg. The family will receive friends from 5 to 7 on Wednesday at Fjeldberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. Bonny was born on January 24, 1932 in Ames to Tom and Wilma (Moore) Erickson. She married Floyd "Fritz" Erickson on July 3, 1951. He died August 20, 1932. She worked at the Iowa State Bookstore and Huxley Communications but will be remembered for she and Fritz owning and operating the Fjord restaurant in Huxley from 1966 to 1988. Bonny was a member of Fjeldberg Lutheran Church and enjoyed reading, flower gardens, taking care of Fritz and especially her children and grandchildren. She is survived by her three sons, Tim (Sue) of Slater, Mark (Sharyn) of Huxley and Mike of Dallas, TX; seven grandchildren, Miranda, Nathan, Ashley, Jesse, Elyse and Lynnea; 12 great grandchildren; a brother, Larry (Mary) Erickson of Mitchellville, IA and a sister, Mary (Earl) Hennick of Ankeny. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Fritz; her daughter, Lisa Kling and son-in-law, Roger Kling and a brother, Tommy Erickson. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Fjeldberg Lutheran Church.
