Manuel passed away on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Shenandoah Medical Center.

Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, July 23, 2019 at St. Mary's Catholic Church. Burial will follow in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will greet friends at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5-7. The rosary will be recited in Spanish at 7:00 p.m.

Memorials may be directed to the family.

Manuel Ruiz Salmon nació el 15 de noviembre de 1928 en Guadalupe Calvo Chih México, hijo de Jesús Ruiz y Juana López. Manuel entró en descanso eterno el miércoles 17 de julio de 2019 en el Centro Médico Shenandoah rodeado de su amorosa familia.
El primer trabajo de Manuel fue ayudar a su familia en su granja en Guadalupe Calvo Chihuahua México. A la edad de 16 años, comenzó su viaje de trabajo en La Prieta Hidalgo Parral, Chihuahua México. Trabajó allí de 1944 a 1957. Luego fue transferido a Minera Frisco de San Francisco del Oro Parral Chihuahua México de 1957-1973. De 1973 a 1975 trabajó como operador de trenes transportando minerales a la estación de entrega y pesaje. Luego se mudó a Denver, Colorado y trabajó en una planta procesadora de pavos durante varios meses. A partir de ahí, algunos amigos lo invitaron a venir a trabajar a Mount Arbor Nurseries en Shenandoah, donde trabajó durante 10 años. Luego se mudó a Albuquerque, Nuevo México y trabajó como lavaplatos en el restaurante de JB durante 2 años. Luego regresó a Shenandoah para el reempleo con Mount Arbor Nurseries hasta su jubilación a la edad de 77 años.
El 2 de febrero de 1957 se unió en matrimonio con María Elena Angel en Parral Chihuahua. La pareja fue bendecida con 62 años de matrimonio. Manuel disfrutaba cantando, bailando y pasando tiempo con su familia. Fue miembro de la Iglesia Católica de Santa María en Shenandoah.
Fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres; su hermano Luciano Ruiz y sus hermanas Josefina Ortiz y Trihidoed Olivas. Manuel Ruiz Salmon was born on November 15, 1928 in Guadalupe Calvo Chih Mexico, the son of Jesus Ruiz and Juana Lopez. Manuel entered eternal rest on Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at the Shenandoah Medical Center surrounded by his loving family.

Manuel's first job was to help his family on their farm in Guadalupe Calvo Chihuahua Mexico. At the age of 16, he started his work journey at La Prieta Hidalgo Parral, Chihuahua Mexico. He worked there from 1944-1957. He then transferred to Minera Frisco de San Francisco del Oro Parral Chihuahua Mexico from 1957-1973. From 1973-1975 he worked as a train operator hauling minerals to the drop off and weigh station. He then moved to Denver, Colorado and worked at a turkey processing plant for several months. From there some friends invited him to come and work at Mount Arbor Nurseries in Shenandoah, where he worked for 10 years. He then moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico and worked as a dishwasher at JB's restaurant for 2 years. He then returned to Shenandoah for reemployment with Mount Arbor Nurseries until his retirement at the age of 77.

On February 2, 1957 he was united in marriage to Maria Elena Angel in Parral Chihuahua. The couple was blessed with 62 years of marriage. Manuel enjoyed singing, dancing and spending time with his family. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Shenandoah.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother Luciano Ruiz and sisters Josefina Ortiz and Trihidoed Olivas. Those left to honor his memory include his beloved wife Maria; sons J. Manuel (Ana), Julio and Carlos; daughters Letty (Ruben) Rosa, Mary (Juan) Cepada, Silvia (Bryan) Snyder and Claudia Ruiz; 15 grandchildren Manuelito (Lacey), Raulito (Trisha), Geraldine (Trey), AnnKaren (Alex), Nicole, Kevin, Marilyn, Steve, Brandy, Neida, Roxanita, Juanito, Estellita, Ito and Kobito; 7 great-grandchildren Chumelito, Mia, Lucy, Guerrito, Kamila, Gordito and Angel Manuel; his brother Luis Ruiz; and sisters Lucia Portillo, Clara Mendez and Maria Santini.
