In loving memory of

Julaine Miller
June 21, 1932 - August 12, 2019

DeForest- Julaine June (Degner) Miller went to heaven to be with her Savior on Monday, August 12, 2019. Julaine's life began on June 21, 1932, when the Lord began to guide her Christian Life through Grandmother Bertha Degner and Ella Schultz. Julaine was adopted into God's family of believers on November 13, 1932, through the sacrament of Holy Baptism. Julaine dearly treasured her faith received at baptism and was willing to tell many about the Love of Jesus. After attending a one room schoolhouse located on Woodland Ridge in rural Wonewoc, Julaine attended Saint Paul's Lutheran School in Wonewoc, Wisconsin, where she was able to sit at the feet of Jesus for her lessons each school day. After being strengthened in her faith, she renewed her baptismal vows and promised to be faithful, even to the point of death, to her Lord Jesus Christ on her Confirmation day, April 14, 1946. Her confirmation verse was Matthew 24:13, "But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved". Julaine certainly endured unto the end and has now joined the saints in heaven. While working in Madison, Wisconsin, as a bank teller Julaine found the man of her dreams, a man who wanted to go to church with her. Julaine married Harry Louis Miller, the farm boy down the road who had gone off to serve his country in the Air Force. He had returned home after safely serving during the Korean War. They began their Christian marriage on June 14, 1952. Julaine's love in Christ continued to grow whereas she left all things in her life to God's direction as a wife and mother. Julaine was blessed with over fifty-seven years of marriage to the same Christian man. Romans 8:28 "All things work together for good to those that love God" is one of Julaine's favorite Bible verses. During her Christian marriage, Julaine became a mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was blessed with five wonderful children, ten beautiful grandchildren, and five dear great-grandchildren. As Julaine's children were growing, Julaine became a Sunday School Teacher and taught Sunday School or catechism lessons for more than twenty-five years. It has been Julaine's mission to tell the story of Jesus' glory throughout her earthly life. Not only did Julaine tell the story of Jesus' glory through Sunday lessons, Julaine and Harry opened their DeForest home to Bible lessons so that Chirst's love could be shared in the community we call DeForest. As a result, the formation of a Lutheran Church began in God's name. Julaine and Harry wanted everyone to have the opportunity to hear the Word and become united by Christ, the Lord of all. Julaine's body will be laid to rest in the St Paul's Lutheran Cemetery in Wonewoc, Wisconsin. A 10 a.m. gathering at the gravesite is scheduled for Monday, August 19, 2019.
