Mary L. Gipe, age 84 of Mingo, died Monday, April 04, 2011 at her home. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 7, 2011 at Coburn Funeral Home of Colfax at 2:00 p.m. with burial following at Greencastle Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at Coburn Funeral Home of Colfax from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. with family present to greet friends from 5:00 - 8:00 p.m. Memorials may be left in Mary's name and online condolences may be left at www.coburnfuneralhomes.com.

The daughter of Chester Royden and Neva (Ketch) Keith, Mary Lavada Keith was born on July 27, 1926 in Des Moines, Iowa. Mary graduated from Des Moines North High School in 1944 before going on and graduating from the AIB College of Business. On April 7, 1945 Mary was united in marriage with George Henry Gipe in Leon, Iowa. Mary worked hard for her family as a dedicated homemaker. She enjoyed playing SKIP-BO and fill-in word puzzles. Mary served as a member of the Valeria City Council.

Those left to honor Mary's memory are her children; Richard Henry Gipe (Shelly Westrum) of Des Moines; Connie Lou Gipe Bucklin of Ira; William Henry (Deb) Gipe of Baxter; Judie Ann Gipe Tinsley (Tim Cosner) of Mingo; and Michael Allen (Ellen) Gipe of Newton; grandchildren; Matthew Bucklin, Adam (Stephanie) Bucklin, Angela Gipe Brown, Cynthia Gipe, J.J. Tinsley, Justin Tinsley, Jacob Tinsley, LaRae Gipe (Mario) Romo, Ashley Gipe, Emily Gipe (Eric) Moses and Nathan Gipe; great-grandchildren; Jailyn Bucklin, Mickey G. Bucklin, Alexis Bucklin, Brently Brown, Camden Gipe, and Rio Romo; and one sister, Myra Keith Haley. Mary was preceded in death by her parents, husband, one daughter, Patricia Ann Gipe, one son, Samual Henry Gipe, and siblings; Don Keith, Clyde Keith, Clarence Keith, Jack Keith, Jerry Keith, Dorothy Keith Wilson, Marie Keith, and JoAnn Keith VanTrees.
