RAYMOND A. KINDSCHY
Mr. Ray Kindschy, of Pierre Lane in Port Washington, passed away at his home surrounded by his family and friends in the early morning hours of Wednesday, August 22, 2007. He was 63 years old. Ray was born in Winona, MN on April 4, 1944, son of Melvin and Elizabeth Kindschy Nerby. He was raised in Alma, WI by his grandparents Alvin & Frances Kindschy and his great-uncle Raymond. He graduated from UW Stout in 1967 with a degree in Industrial Technology and later entered the US Air Force. He served in Vietnam as an aircraft mechanic. On September 28, 1974 Ray was united in marriage with Patricia McNeil at St. John's in The Wilderness Episcopal Church in Elkhorn, WI. The couple lived in Illinois until they settled in Port Washington in 1984. Mr. Kindschy worked at AO Smith for almost 25 years, both as an Industrial Engineer and as Plant Manager. He started Kinship Inspection Service in 1995 and worked as a home inspector until his retirement in December of 2006. Mr. Kindschy was a member of St. Simon the Fisherman Episcopal Church in Port Washington, where he served as Treasurer and Senior Warden of the Vestry. He was a member of the Wisconsin Association of Home Inspectors, a former member of the VFW, and a member of the Port Washington Lion's Club. Ray had been involved with Willow Hill Riding Club and had supported his daughters on the local & national horse show circuit. He enjoyed traveling. Some recent trips included Mexico, Ireland, and Thailand. He also loved fishing on Lake Michigan and spending time with his family and friends. Ray is survived by his wife, Pat, their three daughters: Tiffany (fiancee Troy Christianson) of Port Washington, Heather (partner Cedric Palmisano) of New Orleans and Amanda of Port Washington and his "Granddogs" Juneau, Lucca and Bubba. He is further survived by his aunt & uncle Marion and Lowell Doenier of Independence, WI his brothers: Earl (Diann) Kopp of Hartland, Edwin (Laurie) Kopp of Coral City, IA and Brian (Darla) Kopp of Galesville, WI, four sisters: Nancy (Roger) Reick of Wabasha, MN, Sandy Glomski of Alma, WI, Patrina (Bill) Potter of Lyndon,KS and Barbara Nerby of La Crosse. Other survivors include cousins: Kevin, Wanda, Linda and Corinne, nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends including the Steve & Carol Hollister family, the Terry McDonough family, the Jack & Terri McCarthy family, the Carl & Jane Hokans family and the Marty & Cindy Becker family. He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Alvin & Frances Kindschy, his great-uncle Raymond Loesel, his mother & step-father Betty & Carlton Kopp and his father Melvin Nerby. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, August 25th at 3PM at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., in Port Washington. Father Julian Hills will officiate. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Saturday from noon until the start of services at 3PM.
