Sandra K. Minert
March 10, 1938 - September 15, 2019

Sandra "Sandy" Kay Minert, 70, peacefully passed away September 15, 2019 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born May 29, 1949 in Mason City, Iowa. Graduated from Mason City High School and continued on to college. Sandy and her sister, Diane Greenan, spent 70 memorable years together. Attached at the hip. Three times a week, if not more, they were at Perkins enjoying delicious pie. She married Thomas "HAWK" Minert and together they raised one son, Scott "Scotty" Minert and one daughter, Kristin Marie Minert. Sandy was a mother who was devoted to her children and so proud of them. She worked several years as a supervisor for Midwest Construction and loved spending quality time with family and friends. She loved wholeheartedly and she will always have a special place in the hearts of everyone who knew her. A Sister of David (Sue) Gaebel. Grandmother of Brittlyn(Joseph) Minert-Starr, Skylee "My Angel" Minert, Tyler "my special baby boy" Isch, Megan Collette, Katarina Deaton, and Shaelynn Lutcavish. Great-grandmother of Aspen M. Kehm, Jaxen J. Kehm, Penelope J. Rubalcava, Summerlyn R. Starr, and Elsie L. Rubalcava. She is also survived by daughter-in-law, Karen Minert; brother-in-law Mike Greenan. Aunt of Jeff (Tina) Riser, Cindy Riser, Mindy Gaebel, Heather Gaebel, and Matt Gaebel. Great Aunt of Johnnie (Erin) Riser, Austin Richardson, and Ashley "my princess" Riser. She was preceded in death by Leroy "Gizmo" Gaebel (father), Evelyn (mother) & Bob Zeimen (step-father), and her nephew Johnnie Riser. Visitation will be held Friday September 20, 2019 at 5:00 p.m. at The Manor. Funeral service will begin at 6:00 p.m. A dear friend of Sandy's will officiate the service, Minister Helen Davis.
