Robert L. Wellenstein "Bob"
Mr. Robert "Bob" Wellenstein, age 60 years of Port Washington, passed away in the afternoon hours of Tuesday, November 21, 2006 at Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee, after a long, hard fought battle with heart disease. Bob was born in Port Washington on April 5, 1946, son of Elmer Wellenstein and Clara Huebschmann Wellenstein. He grew up in Port Washington, graduating from Port Washington High School in 1965, On November 30, 1968 he married Gayle Lindner at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Port. Mr. Wellenstein worked as an Engineer in Research and Development at KMC Stampings in Port Washington. He was a member of St. Peter's Catholic Church in Port Washington. Bob enjoyed SCUBA diving and fishing in Lake Michigan, his Corvettes, "Ebaying", and collecting Civil War artifacts. He is survived by his wife Gayle of Port Washington, four children; Jeffrey (Jennifer) of Sacramento, CA, Jason and Chris of Port Washington, and Jaymee (Aaron) Richards of Fredonia. He is further survived by his two grandsons Kole Wellenstein and Logan Richards, his mother Clara of Port Washington, siblings Mike (Vicky), Daniel (Joan) Wellenstein and Pat (Rich) Krug, all of Port Washington, and Peter (Barb) Wellenstein of Random Lake, mother-in-law Violet Lindner of Port Washington, brother-in-law Gary Lindner of Milwaukee, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many, many friends, and his faithful companions Harley and Bailee. He is preceded in death by his father Elmer, 1 sister Mary Ann Sandee, and 1 infant brother William. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 24th at 8 PM at St. Mary's Catholic Church, 430 Johnson St., Port Washington, with Father Pat Wendt of St. Peter's Church officiating. Visitation will be held at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave. in Port Washington on Friday from 4:30-7:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, memorials suggested to St. Luke's Medical Center Transplant Program or Columbia St. Mary's Ozaukee Heart Program.
