Lorin Roy Keil age 71 of Maquoketa Iowa died Thursday morning July 3 2003 at his home in Maquoketa Iowa.
Funeral Services will be held at 11 A.M. Monday July 7 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Visitation will be held from 3 to 6 P.M. on Sunday July 6 2003 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Mount Hope Cemetery Maquoketa Iowa where full military rites will be accorded by the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75 Maquoketa VFW Post #3633 O?Connor-Regenwether & the Andrew AMVETS Post #62.
Lorin Roy Keil was born on November 10 1931 in Bellevue Iowa to Roy John Keil and Alma M. (Heckelsmiller) Keil. He was a Korean War Veteran of the U.S. Army. He married Ruth Quint. He then married Marilyn Ringen.
Mr. Keil worked at Clinton Engines in Maquoketa as a machinist for 13 years. While working there he was very instrumental in the organization of their union. He then worked as a machinist for John Deere Dubuque Works from 1965 until retiring in 1985.
He was a member of the machinist?s union Eagles Club in Maquoketa Izaak Walton League Pheasants Forever NRA and the Maquoketa American Legion Post #75. He had an endless sense of humor and was a loving father. He loved hunting and fishing- especially fishing for Walleyes on the Mississippi River.
He is survived by: children- Sally(Mrs. Ron) Mans of Forsyth MT Mike(Joannie) Van Beveren of Colona IL Darcy Lee(Susan) Keil of Baldwin IA DJ(Treva) Keil of White Pine TN David(Loris) Keil of Preston IA Lorna Keil of Maquoketa IA & Lynette(Mrs. Tom) Veit of Henderson CO; 1 brother- Wesley ?Wes?(Billie) Keil of Maquoketa IA; 1 sister- Ellen(Mrs. Orie) Felderman of Clinton IA; 20 grandchildren & 10¢ great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents 3 brothers- Ellis Wallace & Leon & 1 grandson- Drew.
