Funeral services will be held on Friday, October 11, 2019 at 12pm at The Runge Mortuary. Visitation will be Friday from 10:30 am until the service. Burial will be in Davenport Memorial Park Cemetery. Lyle was born December 3, 1930 in Davenport; the son of Arthur and Dorothy (Kuendel) Rohlf. He was united in marriage to Nelda Heuer on September 24, 1954 in Davenport. He served in the U.S. Army from 1952 to 1954 where he served as a military police officer in Frankfort, Germany. After his military service, he worked at Ralston Purina for 39 years and enjoyed many years of retirement with his wife, traveling and watching his grandchildren.

Lyle was a family man who enjoyed spending time with them, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He collected NASCAR memorabilia and loved going to races. He was a sports enthusiast and helped coached his son's ball teams. He was an avid Cubs, Hawkeye, Bears and Brewers fan.

Those left to honor his memory include: wife, Nelda, daughter, Sue (Andy) Brus; sons: Steve (Barb) Rohlf and Stan (Brenda) Rohlf; grandchildren: Carrie Brus, Kate (Ryan) Heid, Tim (Megan) Rohlf, John (Alanna Payne) Rohlf, Daniel Rohlf, Zach (Kelli) Rohlf, Adam (Sara Jones) Rohlf, Hannah (Collin Guinn) Rohlf and Kayla Rohlf; great grandchildren: Brantley Rohlf, Charlotte Heid, Scarlett Rohlf, Leah and Allie Rohlf, a great grandchild on the way and sister, Joyce Hudson (Bill). He was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Dean and grandsons, Matthew and Joshua Rohlf.
