ARTHUR  E.  HELM
 Arthur “Artie” Helm, age 88 years of Saukville died early Tuesday morning, February 3, 2009 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon.  He was born October 14, 1920 in Mequon, son of the late Arthur and Olga Schroeder Helm.  Art served in the US Army during WW II and on July 27, 1946 he married Regina “Jean” Kimla in Saukville.  She preceded him in death in 2006.  Art worked for the Ozaukee County Sheriff’s Department for twenty-eight years, serving as  traffic officer, Sergeant, and served as Sheriff from 1967 to 1979.  He was a member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ in Saukville and St. Peter’s Brotherhood, Landt-Thiel Post 470 American Legion in Saukville,  VFW Post 5373, Military Order of Cooties Pup Tent #22, and 40 et 8.  He proudly served as chairman of the Ozaukee County War Memorial.  He is survived by his two sons Richard (Judy) Helm and Arthur Jr. “Butch” (Jean) Helm, both of Saukville, his grandchildren  Rick, Ryan, Laura, Adam, and Andrew, his great grandchildren Alexis, Paige, and Nathan, and his brother Wilmer (Rita) Helm of Wausaukee.  He was preceded in death by four sisters Lucille Rinn, Evelyn Moegenburg, Ruth Kertscher and Janet Jacoby and two brothers Willard and Robert Helm.  Funeral services will be held on Friday evening, February 6, 7:30- PM at St. Peter’s United Church of Christ, 166 W. Dekora St., Saukville.  Visitation will be at the church Friday from 4-7:30 PM with a VFW and Legion walk-thru at 6:30 PM.  Burial with full military honors will take place at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Saukville in Spring.  In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Stars and Stripes Honor Flight appreciated.  The Eernisse Funeral Home, Port Washington is assisting the family with arrangements.

Funeral services will be held at 7:30PM on Friday evening, February 6 at St. Peter\'s United Church of Christ, 166 W. Dekora St., Saukville.
