ARTHUR W. STURM  “The Old Guy”

Art Sturm, of Sunset Road in Port Washington, formerly of Random Lake, passed away unexpectedly Monday, February 23, 2009 at Columbia St. Mary’s Hospital in Mequon.  He was 63 years old.  Arthur was born in Milwaukee on March 6, 1945, son of George and Clara Kern Sturm.  He had lived in Random Lake until 2008, when he moved to Port Washington.  Art had been a welder at Omniquip (formerly Trak Int.) in Port Washington until 2004.  Mr. Sturm was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Silver Creek, the Silver Creek Fire Department and IAM Local 1430.  He had a passion for motorcycles and was an avid biker, as well as a social butterfly who was frequently the life of the party.  He was very proud of achieving his dream of receiving his HSED in 2005 at the age of 60.  He is survived by his three children: Martin Sturm, Kristin (Jason) Benjamin and Lara Strack, one sister, Theresa Sturm, 3 brothers: Roland, Joel (Linda) and Frederick Sturm, as well as his dear companion Jean Taylor.  He is further survived by his cherished dog, Lady, other relatives and friends.  He is preceded in death by his parents, his sister Donna, and an infant brother.  A Memorial Service will be celebrated on Saturday, February 28, 2009 at 7PM, at the Eernisse Funeral Home, 1600 W. Grand Ave., in Port Washington.  Rev. William “Pastor Fuzzy” Wiederanders will officiate the service. The family will receive visitors at the Funeral Home on Saturday from 4-7PM.
