George Booth Sr.
January 6, 1934 - November 3, 2019

George Eugene Booth Sr., 85, passed away on November 3, 2019 at his home in Indianapolis.

George was born in Wells Bottom, WV to Arthur Lee, Sr. and Golda Alma Booth on January 6, 1934. He attended Moundsville High School, Moundsville, WV. He graduated from West Virginia University with a B.S. Degree in Mechanical Engineering and was a proud supporter of his Mountaineers. He married the love of his life, Margaret Eder, 62 years ago on February 8, 1957 in Oakland, Maryland. After working in New Jersey and Wisconsin, a job opportunity at the Allison Engine Company brought them to Indiana. In August of 1963 George started the George E. Booth Co., Inc. out of his living room in Brownsburg, IN. He was a member, and past president of the Country Club of Indianapolis. He was also a longtime member of the Elks Club, Meadowood Golf Club, Junto, ISA (Instrument Society of America), and Lion's Club. He received Indiana's Entrepreneur of the Year Award in 1992, and was presented with a Lifetime Achievement Award from the Country Club of Indianapolis in 2010. George's hobbies included fishing and golfing but his first love was his family.

George is preceded in death by his father and mother; brothers, Jay and Lee Booth and sister, Kathy Anderson.

George is survived by his wife, Margaret; son, George II "G.E" (Marie); daughter, Maggie (Scott) Rockwell; brother, Karroll (Lois) Booth. Grandchildren: George III (Sarah) Booth, Ashlee (Nathaniel) Scott, Adam Booth, Cooper Rockwell, Carson Rockwell; Great-grandchildren: Chloe Booth, George Booth IV.

Visitation will be 4-7pm Friday, November 8, 2019 at Crown Hill Cemetery, Indianapolis, IN.

A visitation will be held at 10 am followed by a funeral service at 11 am Saturday, November 9, 2019 at the Gothic Chapel, Crown Hill Cemetery (Please utilize the 34th and Boulevard Place entrance). Burial will follow immediately after the services at Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are by Crown Hill Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, George Sr. has asked for contributions to be made to the American Cancer Society.
