I even had the privilege of working for him one summer at boy scout camp. The one thing that will be truly missed is Al's friendship with my Dad. Al is now with God and my families prayers are with Nancy and family. Tim."

What a tremendous loss for Ozaukee County, Port Washington, and Special Education. Al will be greatly missed by his friends and family and probably is causing some ruckus up there somewhere in the Great Workplace in the Sky! God Bless, Gerald J. Lewis, Dir. "Dear Nancy and Family, We were so sorry to hear about Al. He was a kind man and had a great sense of humor. Several years ago at your garage sale, Nancy, I bought some material and a table. I decided then I'd need my car to get it home. About 10 minutes after I'd walked home, the doorbell rang. It was Al. He'd carried that table all the way up the block... We're keeping you all in our prayers."

Tom & Marg Gulovich wrote on Jul 24, 2010:

"Al, you & I worked together for 28 wonderful years. Even better, we had 38 year's of friendship like no one else. I will always remember our special times, with families of course, but most of all our golfing, hunting, fishing & even scout camp together. All I can say about golfing, it truly is a good walk ruined, but we had fun. We never got to really enjoy a lot of fishing, but we had laughs like when you started catching fish, I moved the boat just to aggravate you. Duck hunting, well I will always remember you 'in & out' of the water. Hunting with my son Tim & you and HIS dog Bell who actually found ducks--unlike your Lady I and my 'chicken of the water' Candy! Of course we HAD to have TP along for times when you had to 'use' the beaver house or I had to sit on the fallen tree that collapsed at just the wrong time. Last, all that oatmeal ordered at scout camp by your new commisary boss--don't think you hired me back either! We love you Al, thanks for these and all our memories!"

Kelly Murray wrote on Jul 23, 2010:

"As a colleague of Al's at both Wilson and Homestead in the M-T School district, I was blessed to have shared a laugh or two with him. I have admired Al for his genuine concern and compassion for children, especially those with special needs. He had such a zest for living, and despite having "retired", he came back to share his passion and expertise with us and the kids with such enthusiasm. I learned so much from him. May you know that he is at peace now after giving so much of himself to others. "
