Grant R. Findley
December 10, 1949 - May 7, 2011

Grant Richard Findley, age 61 of Colfax, died Saturday, May 7, 2011 at his home, with his family by his side. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 10:30 am at First Baptist Church of Colfax with burial following at McKeever Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 at Coburn Funeral Home of Colfax from 2:00 - 8:00 pm with family present to greet friends from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. The son of Charles Herbert and Beulah June (Armbruster) Findley, Grant Richard Findley was born on December 10, 1949 in Des Moines, Iowa. On August 9, 1969 Grant was united in marriage with Patty Warner at the First Baptist Church in Colfax. Grant provided for his family by working maintenance at Diamond Crystal in Mitchellville. He was a man of many passions and interests, which included; swimming, hunting, fishing, mushroom hunting, Pow Wows, Rendezvous', camping, spending time with his grandkids, family, and his dog Chocolate, yard work, carving and making knives, peace pipes, and walking sticks, cooking, and loved going out to eat at Richellis.

Those left to honor his memory are his wife, Patty Findley of Colfax; son, Brian Findley and his wife Summer of Colfax; daughter, Amy Drake and her husband Darin of Colfax; two grandchildren, Darian and Payton Drake; another grandchild on the way; mother, Beulah Findley, one brother, Gary Findley; and one sister, Patty Underwood. Grant was preceded in death by his father Charles Findley, and grandparents.
