Treesa F. Barker
May 29, 1923 - November 10, 2006

Treesa F. Barker age 83 of Maquoketa Iowa died on Friday morning November 102006.0 at the Jackson County Regional Health Center in Maquoketa Iowa.



A celebration of her life will be held at 10:30 A.M. Monday November 132006.0 from the First Baptist Church in Maquoketa Iowa with Rev. Norman Hieman officiating. Visitation will be held from 3 to 5 P.M. on Sunday November 122006.0 from the Carson & Son Funeral And Cremation Services in Maquoketa Iowa. Burial will be in the Andrew Iowa Cemetery.



Treesa Hendrix was born on May 29 1923 in Mountainburg Arkansas to Roy Hendrix and Mona (Young) Hendrix. She married Claude A. Barker on September 15 1938 in Mountainburg Arkansas. He preceded her in death on January 30 2000.



Treesa had been an employee of the Jackson County Public Hospital in Maquoketa for 26 years. She first worked in the housekeeping department for three years and then earned her Certified Nurses Aide certificate and worked as a CNA for 23 years retiring in April of 1985.



Treesa was a member of the First Baptist Church in Maquoketa the Maquoketa VFW Ladies Auxiliary and the Royal Neighbors of America. She enjoyed bowling camping gardening and cooking. She was especially known for her bread pudding.



Treesa is survived by: sons- Alvin (Shirley) Barker of Davenport IA & Allen Barker of Maquoketa IA; 6 grandchildren & 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents her husband 4 sisters 3 brothers & 2 granddaughters.



A Treesa F. Barker Memorial Fund has been established.
