Joseph R. Mulhern, 78 of Ambler PA., died Saturday in the Abington Memorial Hospital Abington, PA after an illness.
Born in Philadelphia, PA., he was the son of the late James and the late Anna (nee Hughes) Mulhern. He was a Graduate of Roman Catholic High School class of 1945 and he attended Spring Garden Institute and Penn State University.
He served in the Army Air Corps during WW II.
He was an Electrical Contractor & Estimator with the former Mulhern Electric in Philadelphia, a partner in J. Mulhern Electric in Abington and he retired from Kling - Lindquist Architectural Engineering in Philadelphia in 1996.
Mr. Mulhern was a member of St. Joseph's Church, Ambler, PA, and the Wm. Bolton Dixon American Legion Post # 10 in Ft. Washington, Pa.
He is survived by his wife Sara E. Mulhern of Ambler; two brothers, John T. Mulhern of Levittown, PA; Jerome G. Mulhern of Philadelphia and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his brother James F. Mulhern.
Relatives and friends may call Thursday from 9:30 to 10:30 AM at St. Joseph's Church, Main & Poplar Sts. Ambler with a Funeral Mass at 10:30 AM with Rev. Daniel Cavanaugh, Pastor as Celebrant. Interment will be in Resurrection Cemetery, Bensalem, Pa.
