In loving memory of

Lula Mae Frazier
May 20, 1929 - June 26, 2010

Lula Mae Jackson Frazier was born to loving parents, the late Jimmy Jackson and the late Jessie Mae Dowell in Lee County Alabama on May 20, 1929. She was later married to the late Charlie "Tuck" Frazier (preceded in death on June 6, 2005) and the union which lasted for more than 57 years was blessed with two daughters, Mattie Ruth and Charlie Mae.

Lula, fondly referred to as "Luke Babe" by her beloved husband Tuck, was summoned home Saturday, June 26, 2010. She confessed Christ at an early age initially joining Bethel Number 1 Baptist Church in Opelika, Alabama. Wanting to unite her family and worship together with them, she later joined the Burrell's Chapel A.M.E. Church to be with her husband and children.

Lula held many positions in the working world but was able to retire from the West Point Pepperrell Mill during the 1970's. She was a pillar of the community and the center of wisdom for her family and friends. During her life on the Cusseta route where she resided, she gave much advice and offered support and encouragement to everyone.

Lula became very active in the church and faithfully served in many capacities but her calling was as a Stewardess on the Stewardess Board at the Burrell's Chapel A.M.E. Church. She worked in this capacity for more than 38 years serving many preachers and congregations throughout these years.

Lula leaves to mourn her passing two loving daughters and sons-in laws: Mattie (James) Carston, Lanett, Alabama; Charlie M. (Conrad) Lassiter, Montgomery, Alabama; three sisters: Betty Jean Stringer, Cusseta, Alabama; Millie Mae (James O'Neal) Florence; Katherine (Elijah) Marshall of Valley, Alabama and one sister-in-law: Ruby Stevens, Cusseta, Alabama. Two sisters: Eva Mae Hall and Jeanie Billingsley preceded her in death; four grandchildren: LaDonna Hightower, Valley, Alabama; Kenikie Lassiter and Kevin Lassiter, Atlanta, Georgia; Nicholas (Monica) Martin, Lanett, Alabama; four great-grand children: Oriana Cameron, Charnesse Hightower, Tyreic Martin and Christopher Heard, all of Valley, Alabama and a host of nieces, nephews and friends and a very special family member and friends; nephew-in-law, George "Bett" Milton, Opelika, Alabama; Mattie Word and Diane Eiland, both of the Cusseta/ Beulah Community.
