Guy E. Irvin, Jr.
March 21, 1952 - July 16, 2020

Guy "Bert" Irvin, Jr. passed away on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Garden View Care Center surrounded by his loving family.

Memorial visitation will be held on Friday, July 24, 2020 at the Hackett-Livingston Funeral Home from 5:00 until 6:30 p.m. A service of remembrance will be held at 6:30 p.m.

Guy Egbert Irvin, Jr. was born on March 21, 1952 in Mt. Ayr, Iowa, the son of Guy Egbert and Marcelene (Booher) Irvin, Sr. Bert entered into eternal peace on Thursday, July 16, 2020 at the Garden View Care Center in Shenandoah, Iowa surrounded by his loving family.

Bert had a fun filled childhood at the family homestead in Athelstan. He enjoyed playing in the creeks, fishing, catching crawdads, frogs and toads with his siblings and cousins. There was always fun to be had when the gang was all together. When Bert was a teenager the family moved to Shenandoah. He graduated from Shenandoah High School with the Class of 1971. He later went on to receive a degree in Business Law from Iowa Western Community College in 1984.

Bert held various jobs during his working years. He worked for Mt. Arbor Nursery, the Weekly Times, Mrs. B's Furniture Store, Shenandoah Redemption Center, Nishna Productions and helped at the county farm in Clarinda. Some of his interests included walking, fishing, reading, watching westerns, playing cards, and chatting with the friends he made at Garden View Care Center. Most of all, Bert loved his family. He enjoyed spending as much time as he could with them.

He was welcomed into heaven by his parents; sisters Mary (Booher) Ellison, and Jessie (Irvin) Frohling; step father Charles Binau, Sr., nieces Darla Booher and Debbie (Kier) Gaunt and nephew Jacob Wright.

Those left to cherish his memory include his sisters Thelma Binau and Connie Dawson and husband James; brothers Earl Booher and Charles Binau, Jr; 12 nieces and 11 nephews other relatives and dear friends.
