Blue Lee Young
December 15, 1957 - October 12, 2000

Blue Lee Young MUSCATINE, Iowa - Blue Lee Young, 42, of rural Columbus Junction, Iowa, died late Thursday, October 12, 2000, at her home, after a long battle with alcoholism and prescription drug abuse. Memorial services will be held at 4 p.m., Thursday at New Song Episcopal Church, 800 Second St., Suite, Coralville. The body has been cremated and the Nichols Chapel Hill Fuenral Home and Crematory in Muscatine is in charge of the arrangements. Blue was born December 15, 1957, the daughter of Raymond Allen Young and Leatrice Julip Young. She had served briefly in the US Air Force. She loved her dogs, Rocky and Lugs and her cats, Bandit, Cassius, Yoda and Xena. She enjoyed fishing, sketching, writing poetry and playing board games. Survivors include her father, Raymond Young of Columbus Junction; one brother, Steven Young of Iowa City; one half-brother, Mike Young and his wife Lisa of Muscatine; three half-sisters, Pam Lane and her husband Gary, Pat Sander and Barbara Young all of Muscatine; and long-time special friend and companion, Shelley Anderton of Columbus Junction. She was preceded in death by her mother, one half-brother, Mike Bear and her favorite cat, Feather.
