October 23, 1983 - October 25, 2000

Greg Collins LETTS, Iowa - Greg W. Collins, 17, of 17828 Highway 61, Letts, died Wednesday, Oct. 25, 2000, at his parents home. Services will be 10 a.m. on Saturday, at the Grandview Community Bible Church. The Rev. Darryl Erickson will officiate. Pallbearers will be the Order of the Arrow Lodge Brothers. Honorary Bearers will be the Louisa-Muscatine Varsity Football Team and Coaches. Burial will be in Letts Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the Ralph J. Wittich-Riley-Freers Funeral Home in Muscatine. Memorials may be made to the Greg W. Collins Scholarship Fund. Greg was born on Oct. 22, 1983, in Iowa City, son of Ron and Marie Gaeta Collins. Greg was a Junior and honor student at Louisa-Muscatine High School, where he lettered in football and track. He was a varsity team captain for the football squad and was a running back and a line backer. Greg was also involved in the Boy Scouts Letts Troup 54 achieving the Eagle Scout Award and was a Vigil Honor recipient in the Order of the Arrow. He also loved hunting, fishing, hanging out with his friends and is greatly loved by his mother, father and sister. He was a member of the St. Mary Church in Wapello and also attended the Grandview Community Bible Church. Survivors include his parents, Ron and Marie Collins; one sister, Jennifer Collins; his paternal grandparents, Dean and Dolores Collins; his maternal grandparents, Charles and Elizabeth "Betty" Gaeta, all of Letts; his aunts and uncles, Louis and Priscilla Gaeta, Vincent and Janice Gaeta, Charles Gaeta and Jeanne Golien, Michael Gaeta, Joseph and Denise Gaeta, Philippa and Scott Clester, Elizabeth and Jeff Hackett, Dave and Deena Christy, Bill Collins, Gary and Robin Collins, Steve Collins and Scott Collins; many cousins; and special friends, Tim and Linda Verink and their girls, also of Letts and the Knoll family of Blue Grass.
