In loving memory of

Rodney Creque
November 9, 2007

Rodney Eugene Creque, son of Robert Edward and Delores Marjorie Pace Creque, was born on May 9, 1954 in Killeen, Texas. Rodney attended Tipton High School and was a member of the Class of 1972. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for four years. Rodney was a man who could do anything with his hands. He learned how to build and repair things from his father. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing his guitar and remodeling his home.

Rodney is loved and missed by his parents, Robert and Delores Creque of Tipton, Iowa; his two daughters, Shani Creque and Tera Creque of Austin, Texas; his granddaughter, Mia Conerly of Austin, Texas; his two sisters, DeAnna Creque and Rhonda Creque, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his very special friend, Crystal Rife of Tipton, Iowa; his nephew, Nathan (Jennifer) Hubler and their daughter, Sarah, of Mechanicsville, Iowa; many aunts; and his golden retriever, Maddie. Rodney was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his brother, Mark.

Rodney died early Friday morning in his home of an apparent heart attack. He will be laid to rest in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery with full military honors. A luncheon will be served following the committal at the Tipton VFW and all friends and family are invited to attend. Also, should friends so desire, expressions of sympathy may take the form of a donation to the Rodney Creque Memorial Fund.1954-05-09T00:00:00.00023684.023684.023685.023692.023711.018000.00.00.00.02007-11-12T00:00:00.000

Jeanette Creque wrote on Nov 11, 2007:

"Dear Bob, Delores, Deanna and Rhonda, It is with great sadness that I am writing this after hearing from Nate about Rod's passing. I know he was your son and your brother but most of all he was your hero. You all loved him so dearly as he did you. Although our paths took us down different roads, for many years he was not only my husband and the father of my children, he was my best friend. There were rough times, but there were also many good times and memories. Rod was liked by everyone he met and he will be missed by all. I have taken some comfort in the fact that he was able to visit Austin this past August and spend time with Shani, Tera and our little pumpkin, Mia. They had a good time and hopefully that memory will help my girls get through this time of sorrow. I pray for all of you that your good times and memories will help you through this difficult time. Love Jeanette "

"I wish more then ever I could be with the family right now. Rod was special, Rod was loved. I came across this poem and it says it all for me. I hope it can give peace to those who read it. With Love and Sympathy, Cheri (Creque) He is Gone You can shed tears that he is gone, Or you can smile because he lived, You can close your eyes and pray that he will come back, Or you can open your eyes and see all that he has left. Your heart can be empty because you can't see him Or you can be full of the love that you shared, You can turn your back on tomorrow and live yesterday, Or you can be happy for tomorrow because of yesterday. You can remember him and only that he is gone Or you can cherish his memory and let it live on, You can cry and close your mind be empty and turn your back, Or you can do what he would want: smile, open your eyes, love and go on. _________________________________________ "

"To friends and family of Rod, Rod and I hired on at InVision Technologies the same week. I really enjoyed the road trips to Iowa to work on various projects with him. He was very knowledgeable about electronics and took great pride in doing the work to the utmost quality. We had several 3am breakfasts together after long nights of work in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. He was always a great conversation. I don't know why, but something told me to call him recently to catch up on what he was doing....I'm glad I did, it was vintage Rod. He will be missed. My prayers will be with you all. "
