Rodney Eugene Creque, son of Robert Edward and Delores Marjorie Pace Creque, was born on May 9, 1954 in Killeen, Texas. Rodney attended Tipton High School and was a member of the Class of 1972. He enlisted in the United States Navy and served his country for four years. Rodney was a man who could do anything with his hands. He learned how to build and repair things from his father. He enjoyed riding his motorcycle, playing his guitar and remodeling his home.
Rodney is loved and missed by his parents, Robert and Delores Creque of Tipton, Iowa; his two daughters, Shani Creque and Tera Creque of Austin, Texas; his granddaughter, Mia Conerly of Austin, Texas; his two sisters, DeAnna Creque and Rhonda Creque, both of Cedar Rapids, Iowa; his very special friend, Crystal Rife of Tipton, Iowa; his nephew, Nathan (Jennifer) Hubler and their daughter, Sarah, of Mechanicsville, Iowa; many aunts; and his golden retriever, Maddie. Rodney was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents and his brother, Mark.
Rodney died early Friday morning in his home of an apparent heart attack. He will be laid to rest in the Tipton Masonic Cemetery with full military honors. A luncheon will be served following the committal at the Tipton VFW and all friends and family are invited to attend. "Dear Bob, Delores, Deanna and Rhonda, It is with great sadness that I am writing this after hearing from Nate about Rod's passing. I know he was your son and your brother but most of all he was your hero. You all loved him so dearly as he did you. Although our paths took us down different roads, for many years he was not only my husband and the father of my children, he was my best friend. He was very knowledgeable about electronics and took great pride in doing the work to the utmost quality. We had several 3am breakfasts together after long nights of work in Des Moines and Cedar Rapids. He was always a great conversation. I don't know why, but something told me to call him recently to catch up on what he was doing....I'm glad I did, it was vintage Rod. He will be missed. My prayers will be with you all. "
