"I had a mastectomy just a month or so before Jean. I was asked to call Jean and talk to her and we became friends and went to the first original breast cancer meetings in Muscatine. I remember when she brought her daughter to a meeting. I would come to visitation and introduce myself but we are in Arizona for the winter months. I send my deepest sympathy to her family. She was a good friend and a fighter all the way. I saw Jean this fall one day downtown and we had a nice visit. I will miss her. Marilyn McKee"
