Earl Johnson COLUMBUS JUNCTION, Iowa - Earl Johnson, 81, of Columbus Junction, died Friday, Jan. 4, 2002, at his residence in Columbus Junction. Funeral services will be 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, Columbus Junction. Visitation will be 4-7 p.m. Sunday at the Stacy-Lewis Funeral Home, with the family present. A memorial has been established at the funeral home. Burial will be in the Columbus City Cemetery with military rites. Mr. Johnson was born Sept. 28, 1920, in Wyoming, Iowa, to Clyde and Emma Mitchell Johnson. He married Arlene Allen on July 10, 1941, in Kahoka, Mo. He had worked as a mechanic for Plank Implement Inc. of Columbus City. He was also a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during World War II. He was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the Philippine Liberation Ribbon with one Bronze Star. He is survived by his wife Arlene, his daughter, Earlene Lekwa and her husband, Verl, of Columbus Junction; two sons, Harold Johnson and his wife, Paulette, of Muscatine, and Marty Johnson and his wife, Jayne, of Grandview; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; four step-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Kenneth Johnson of Lubbock, Texas, and Lester Johnson of Columbus Junction; and one sister, Rosalie Reid of Columbus Junction. He was preceded in death by his parents; his son, Don Alan Johnson; his grandson, Joseph Johnson; three brothers and three sisters.
