Virginia Hillman MUSCATINE, Iowa - Virginia Lee Hillman, 73, Wilton, died Tuesday, April 9, 2002, at Sierra Vista Hospital, Sierra Vista, Ariz. Services are 2 p.m. Monday at Bentley Funeral Home, Wilton. The Rev. Sharon Phillips will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by organist Deb Mohr and vocalist Liz Curtis. Pallbearers are David Gatzke, Kevin Gatzke, James Chesmore, Aaron Hillman, Erak Hillman and Shawn Szymanski. Honorary pallbearers are Ryan Chesmore, Mike Phillips, Jeff Petersen, Bill Nesbit, Bill Petersen, Jim Eichelberger and Kevin Crookshank. Burial will be at Oakdale Cemetery, Wilton. Visitation is 3-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. A memorial has been established. Mrs. Hillman was born on July 23, 1928, in Iowa City, the daughter of Harvey and Jennie Martin Derby. She married John V. Hillman on Sept. 19, 1948, in Wilton. She was a member of the Jesus Mission Church, Muscatine. Survivors include her husband; four daughters, Alice Chesmore of Muscatine, Donna Gatzke and husband Ron of Atalissa, Patty Hulme and husband Dave of Bisbee, Ariz., Marla Stoner and husband John of Hereford, Ariz.; a son, J. David Hillman and wife Kathy of Tipton; two sisters, Alma Poe of Lakeside, Ariz., and Betty Lundvall of Council Bluffs; 17 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Hillman; a sister, Jennie Butler; a brother, Donald Derby; and a granddaughter, Stacey Chesmore.
