James Wenthe WALCOTT, Iowa #45;- James W. Wenthe, 61, Walcott, died Wednesday, May 8, 2002, at Genesis Medical Center, West Campus, Davenport. Services are 10:30 a.m. Saturday at the Bentley Funeral Home, 1001 Sixth St., Durant. The Rev. David Lawson will officiate. Visitation is 5-7 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the family. Mr. Wenthe was born on July 30, 1940, in National City, Calif., the son of Ralph and Helen Gill Wenthe. He married Karen J. Carr on April 4, 1966, in Savannah, Ill. He was employed at Titan Wheel, French amp; Hecht, in Walcott, retiring in 2001. He enjoyed horse and dog races, playing poker and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Carla McCleary and her husband, Dean, Julie Erbst and her husband, Jerry, all of Buffalo, and Deanna Wenthe of Durant; a son, Tim Wenthe and his wife, Donna, of Durant; a sister, Cherle Alphonso and her husband, John, of Hudson, Fla.; 13 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; two daughters, Sherry Wenthe and Angela Wenthe; a son, Jamie Wenthe; a brother, Dennis Wenthe; and a grandson, Darrion Hardin.
