"Dear Twyla and Girls...
I was sorry to hear about the loss of your husband and father. After losing dad at the beginning of the summer I know how hard it is even when you think you are prepared for the end. While I didn't know your dad very well, I certainly knew you girls growing up and it was obvious he raised a great group of girls. He must have been a wonderful father and I enjoyed reading about his life. I will keep you in my thoughts and prayers. I think we grew up in a great time, with great families and it is strange to think we are to the age where we and our friends are starting to lose our parents. God bless you all. "

"Twyla and family,
Mike and I were out of town with Jenny when we heard the news. We are sadden by the passing of \Kenny J\". He always had a way of making people around him laugh and feel good. I read in one of the condolence that Kenny was the father of the FF softball team. I saw him as the father for the whole league. I know JJ grew up watching his dad play and then played himself and I remember him commenting how he couldn't believe how well Kenny J played for being an \"old guy\" (you know how kids think. Anyway"

"Twila, Debbie, Dixie, Becky, Peggy and Nancy-
My heart is saddened to hear the news of Kenny's passing. It just doesn't seem possible. Somehow, I always felt he was one of those destined to live forever. I have so many great memories out there in the summer, and Kenny J certainly contributed to those. Many laughs, plenty of good advice and a few kicks-in-the-butt came from Kenny through the years, and all were taken with the greatest of admiration and respect. Your are a beautiful family. Always were. Always will be. Our thoughts and Prayers go to each of you.
Love to all,
Matt & Michelle "

"Deb, Twyla, Dixie, and the entire family:
My heart is saddened to hear of Kenny's passing. We can take a little comfort in knowing he is at peace and without pain. No one is ever prepared for the loss of a loved one, no matter how long or how short they suffered with their illness. But we can take those special memories, hold them close and wrap them around us like warm, fuzzy blankets. And with this, we can endure tomorrow, then the next day and each day following. He always had a smile and a joke to share with everyone. He will truly be missed. My thoughts are with you all. Ken & Brenda "

"Dear Twyla and Family,
Doug and I are very sorry to hear of Kenny's passing. We will miss seeing him at athletic events supporting his grandchildren and the other team members. Whenever we saw Kenny we thought of the years of slow-pitch and will remember Kenny as the \Father\" of the Family Foods team. His knock on the hotel door when it was time to go play ball when they traveled to tournaments. Cherish the memories."

"I know I shall be seeing you Tuesday, but I just wanted to share a story about Kenny that I will never forget. I remember, sometime right after we moved into the house down the hill, it was a really stormy night and our mother was in town doing laundry at the laundromat. Being that we just moved there, Alli, Breandan and I were a little squeemish about the storm. Mom left us Kenny and Twyla's number just in case we needed anything while she was gone (these were days before cell phones ever came about). We got scared enough we decided to call Kenny and Twyla, not really sure what to expect. Kenny answered the phone, and was down at our house not even 15 minutes later, to sit with us until mom got home, telling us we called at just the right time, he was about to hop in the tub, and then the phone rang. Kenny was one of the best neighbors we ever had, and I will never forget the Bohemie that lived up the hill from us, he will be greatly missed."

"
Twyla and girls,
Words cannot express how I feel about the loss of Kenny J. Iâ??¢â??Ã?¨â??Ã?¢m shocked, deeply saddened, feel somewhat lost, and wish I could have been there. I had talked to him on the phone just a week or so back. Dad and I talked about coming back for the funeral this morning, and he wanted too, but I felt he could not handle the trip. I know my Dad would not understand if I went back and he did not. When I told my Dad the news, he was concerned and hurt immediately. You could see the pain in his face. Today was my Dadâ??¢â??Ã?¨â??Ã?¢s birthday. (8 August 2009). I hope you all understand.
Kenny J was my friend and someone I looked up to my whole life. He gave me advice many times over the years, especially in the last 4 years. What he did to help me after Dad got hurt was truly remarkable and a story I tell often to my friends in Texas. I will miss the most seeing and talking to him every year when I come home to Iowa.
This past June when I was in Iowa, he called me one day and asked me to come see him at the farm. As soon as I got there, he said â??¢â??Ã?¨â??ìletâ??¢â??Ã?¨â??Ã?¢s goâ??¢â??Ã?¨¬ù. We loaded the cooler, got in the pickup, and I think we drove down every gravel road in Cedar County just talking about the old timesâ??¢â??Ã?¨¬¶4 hours. He even talked to some of my friends in Texas on the cell phone that dayâ??¢â??Ã?¨¬¶that was Kenny J to the tee. I will never forget that day and will remember him always.

You are so fortunate to have had such a wonderful Dad; and please know that he was also very proud of you girls. Nancy, know that I am thinking of you and Chris. It was only a few short months ago that I last saw your Dad and that was when your Mom and Dad payed their respects at my Mother's funeral. I send my thoughts and prayers to all the Jedlicka girls and to your Mother during this difficult time.

"To Twyla and the whole family,
My deepest sympathies to all of you on the loss of Kenny. I grew up across the road from Kenny and Twyla, and Kenny has always been a great neighbor--keeping an eye out on things if Dad had to be gone or whatever. I know Dad will miss going across the road to \chew the fat\" with Kenny at the kitchen table or while he was out cutting wood. You all are in my thoughts and prayers. Kenny will be truly missed. "
