Ray Hardin OAKVILLE, Iowa #45;- Ray Louis Hardin, 64, Oakville, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2002, at his home. Services are 10 a.m. Wednesday at the United Methodist Church, Oakville. The Rev. Chris Thomas will officiate. Musical selections will be provided by John Zippe and Shirley McCord. Pallbearers are Marion Brown, Dale Wehage, Bill Kalb, Jerry Rupe, Bob Perrenoud and Doc Marshall. Honorary pallbearers are Bill Beading, Bill Brown, Chuck St. Pierre, Bob Farm and Henry Wagner. Burial will be at Edwards Cemetery, Oakville. Visitation is after 2 p.m. today, with family present 6-8 p.m., at the Dudgeon-McCulley Funeral Home, Wapello. A memorial fund has been established for the Great River Hospice of West Burlington and the American Cancer Society. Mr. Hardin was born April 15, 1938, in Oakville, the son of Paul C. and Viola Aberle Hardin. He married Joyce Elaine Faris Jan. 19, 1957, in Burlington. He graduated from Oakville High School in 1956. He served in the U.S. Army Reserves. He farmed for several years, then drove for Nelson Trucking, Mediapolis, and then worked at Wal-Mart for 11 years. He loved to garden and fish and was an avid cubs fan. He enjoyed spending Sundays with his family. Survivors include his mother; his wife; a son, Mike Hardin of Wapello; four daughters, Tari Heiniger and husband Doug, Gena Heiniger and husband Tim, Joy Hardin and Forest Branch, all of Oakville, and Lori Hardin of Burlington; three brothers, Don Hardin and wife June of Wapello, Ken Hardin of Mediapolis and Lynn Hardin and wife Teresa of Oakville; a sister, Sandra Whitlow and husband Floyd of Raytown, Mo.; a sister-in-law, Pat Hardin of Burlington; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father and a brother, Dean.
